Coral & Grey crib set

So a friend of mine has a close friend who was having her first baby and was OBSESSED with a crib bedding set on etsy... only problem was the etsy bedding set was OVER $400. That may not matter to some of you, but for the general population over here that is WAY too much to pay for your little ones little noggin... sorry mamas with expensive taste... so, what does this have to do with me you ask? She crochets and I sew... did I say I LOVE barters!!! She made my gracie girl a BEAUTIFUL afghan and I sewed a baby crib set for her friend, based on her friends nursery colors and the style she wanted. Okay, for some reason the colors in the pic are way darker than they should be its more of a soft/mid grey and pretty coral, NOT hot pink and dark grey...

You can see I had fun messing around with various stitches on my new sewing machine! (Seriously, when do you really get to use the 99+ different stitches?!)

Scraps are always a good thing to reuse!DONT throw them away. I used them for pennants and flowers

BTW once again Pinterest was a huge help with the measurements.. here's some links I used:

Steph's girlie bday party

Okay so I LOVE sewing but I really really LOVE throwing parties and showers... especially for people I love! This homeschooling mom of 4 is super special to me and a HUGE inspiration. (As well as a venting buddy ;) Of course she deserved every special detail to make her girly bday night a blast!

what better way to celebrate with some cheesy 90's movies and jammies, than PINK!

(BTW the Pioneer woman's chocolate shot glass desserts were AMAZING... a little tough to make but sooooo worth it. it's in her holiday cookbook... here's the link)

Happy birthday Steph!!!!!

Gracie's Valentine's Heart tunic

This fabric was the perfect for Valentine's and really any other time of the year. It looks like little swiss dot hearts up close. I attempted this "non-pattern" tunic. just a little imagination and some measurements...  I think I used a shirt she already had to measure sleeves (thanks pinterest)!

Gracie's "Belle" dress

Soooo... when prom fabric went on sale (SUPER CHEAP) I thought it would be WAYYYY cheaper to make a princess dress for the little miss... at this point I still did not have the knack with patterns... I attempted this one with her measurements and a little imagination.... its far from professional but it stood up a trip to Disneyland and made for the cutest princess pics EVER!

As soon as I load up the Disney ones from my old computer I'll post here ;)

Gracie's Bicycle dress

When I saw this fabric I immediately thought "schoolgirl jumper". Of course it sat in my "pile" of fabrics for literally over a year before I was able to get to work on it... The fabric is flannel with the idea of a winter jumper. Sometimes Grace wears it with a long sleeved shirt under. I did make a pattern myself using freezer paper and her measurements. It really wasn't that difficult, I promise.  I still have to scan it then I can share as a PDF. Sorry, this may take some time to get to....

Here's the pics... (I'll put instructions in when I post the pattern to share). If you can't wait message me ;)
