A Midsummer Night's Dream fairie themed birthday

Grace has been obsessed with the story (and ballet) of a Midsummer Night's Dream, so we thought what a perfect theme, a proper English, fairy tea party!

Each girl got to pick a flower crown (I used floral wire, floral tape, fake flowers and lace/ribbon to make these); a wand (I used my cricut to cut stars on sparkly paper), hot glued them on painted gold wooden dowels with ribbon hanging; and wings (from the Dollar tree).
We used my "real" tea cups/saucers and dishes, I cut the tea sandwiches (cucumber, sunflower butter/honey, strawberry cream cheese/jelly) in shapes of butterflies, flowers, hearts and stars.

The middle of the table was lined with moss (dollar tree), fake flowers, sparkly tulle, non-flammable tea lights, fake jewels and fake butterflies (dollar tree).

I tweaked the Ella pattern for Gracie's dress (added flutter sleaves and lengthened the bodice) and made a tulle petti-skirt to go under.

the larger food stand was made with a candle holder (dollar tree) hot glued under an stove cover (dollar tree). the other was an actual tea plate hot glued on a candle holder.

The laser cut fairy was from Michaels. I used some of Gracie's old books (décor in her room) and fairy tale books to decorate

The banner was cut with the cricut Nursery Rhymes cartridge. I hot glued fake flowers. the "7" was just a cardboard cut 7 (using font from nursery rhymes) and hot glued flowers all over.

For one activity the girls painted fairy houses for their fairy gardens which (once the houses were dry - $1 at Michaels), we used pie tins with soil, had them pick flowers to plant and lined walkways in front of their "houses" with marbles (from dollar tree)

We also cut a bunch of butterflies with various scrap paper (from banner) with the cricut (my lapbook cartridge) and threw them over the patio balcony outside for the girls to catch in their nets as another game (Grace came up with the idea!)
